How to Renew Your Learner's Licence (LL) in Bangalore

renewal of learner's license

Your Learner's Licence (LL) is only valid for 6 months from the date it's issued. If you haven't cleared your driving test or applied for your permanent DL in that window, you don't have to start from scratch — you can renew it and get more time to practice.

What renewal actually gets you

Once you renew, you get an additional 6 months on the same learner's licence — enough time to keep practicing and prepare properly for your driving test, instead of rushing to beat a deadline.

What the process involves

  1. Pay the renewal fee — this typically comes to around ₹350, depending on your RTO and vehicle class.

  2. Scrutiny of your application — the RTO reviews your existing LL details and documents again before approving the extension.

  3. LL renewal approval — once scrutiny clears, your learner's licence is extended for another 6 months from that point.

That's it — no retest, no fresh application from scratch, just the renewal fee and approval.

Where this gets complicated

In practice, the "renewal" isn't always a simple one-click process — different RTOs handle the scrutiny step differently, and getting the paperwork or online application right the first time is where people usually get stuck or face delays.

How Upride makes this easy

Upride handles LL renewal across multiple Bangalore RTOs, and we take care of the scrutiny and approval steps so you're not stuck following up yourself. Whether your LL falls under Koramangala/HSR, Rajajinagar, Indiranagar/Kasturi Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, Jayanagar, Electronic City, Jnanabharathi/Kengeri, or KR Puram — we handle the renewal end-to-end.

📲 Message us on WhatsApp and we'll get your LL renewed without the back-and-forth.
