How to Renew Your Driving Licence in Bangalore

renew driving license

Your driving licence isn't valid forever, and letting it lapse can mean fines, or in some cases, a fresh test. If yours is nearing expiry, here's what you actually need to know — and how Upride makes the whole thing simple.

How long is a renewal valid for? It depends on your age. If you're renewing before you turn 50, you typically get a 10-year extension. Once you cross 50, renewals are usually granted for 5 years at a time, since RTOs review senior drivers more frequently.

What documents do you need? The two documents you can't skip are your original DL card and a rental agreement (or address proof) — these are the starting point for everything. Depending on your case, the RTO may also ask for a recent photo, a filled application form, and in some cases a medical certificate.

How long does it take? Once your documents are submitted, the renewal process usually takes about 7 working days from start to finish.

Where does the confusion usually happen? People get stuck figuring out which RTO to visit, which form to fill, and whether their documents are even valid. This is exactly where Upride steps in — we take care of the paperwork, the RTO visit, and the follow-up, so you don't have to. 📲 Message us on WhatsApp and we'll start your renewal today.

How Upride handles your renewal, step by step:

  1. We collect your documents — and if you're missing something, we help you sort it out.

  2. A dedicated RTO consultant from Upride is assigned to your application.

  3. Your application is filed on Parivahan, and we take it through all the necessary approvals.

  4. Your RTO consultant guides you through biometrics and any other steps that need your presence.

  5. Once approved, your renewed DL card gets printed — and you're done.

Upride's charges are simple:

  • ₹3,500 for a single licence renewal (either LMV or MCWG/MCWOG)

  • ₹5,000 for both licences together (LMV + MCWG/MCWOG)

Most major Bangalore RTOs are covered, including KR Puram (KA53), Kasturi Nagar / Indiranagar (KA03), HSR Layout / Koramangala (KA01), Electronic City (KA51), Rajajinagar (KA02), and Kengeri / Ullal / Gnanabharathi (KA41). 📲 Message us on WhatsApp to check if your RTO is covered.
