Guidelines

In case your RC is lost or stolen, first file a police complaint at the police station where the loss occurred

Inform the RTO that originally issued the RC about the loss in writing

Submit Form 26 to the same RTO

Pay the applicable duplicate RC fee as per government rules

Police Certificate / FIR (mandatory in case of loss or theft)

Valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate

Valid Motor Insurance Certificate

Proof of Address

Challan Clearance Certificate from Traffic Police (for commercial vehicles)

Tax Clearance Certificate (for commercial vehicles)

Attested copy of PAN Card or Form 60 / Form 61 (if applicable)

Pencil Print of Chassis Number & Engine Number

Owner's Signature Identification

Affidavit stating that the RC is lost and not impounded by any authority
